SPECIAL MEETING MAY 3, 2007 1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Pro-tem John Denninger called the special meeting of the City of Hilshire Village Council to order at 6:10 P M. at 8301 Westview, Houston, Texas. Present were Council members Connie Castro, Brian Henault. Absent was Mayor Robin S. Border and Councilmember Zandra Anderson. Also present was Efrain Him, P.E. of Claunch & Miller, Inc. (CMI). 2. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION: Authorization to proceed with completion of project of 1209 Pine Chase Drive outfall by contractor recommended by CMI Engineers due to default of original contractor (TEK Holding). Mr. Him presented Council with a letter of recommendation. He had received two bids for the completion of outstanding work on this project. J & V Utilities gave a base bid of $9,200, with a supplemental bid of $2,000. TOPCO gave a bid of $9,350 for base and an additional $2,000 for supplemental bid. He said “J & V Utilities appears to be a responsible firm that is capable of performing the specified work in a satisfactory manner. For these reasons, we recommend that the City of Hilshire Village award the 1209 Pine Chase Drive outfall improvement project- completion of outstanding work to J & V Utilities for the total bid amount of $11,200.” There was some discussion about the supplemental bid for a 200-gallon crepe myrtle. Denninger moved that the recommended contractor (J & V Utilities) be awarded this completion project without the supplemental bid., for a total of $9,350. This was seconded by Whiting. A vote was taken and motion carried unanimously for base bid only of $9,350. 3. ADJOURNMENT: It was moved by Castro, seconded by Whiting that meeting be adjourned.
